The Problem
Ontario enforcement officers have carried legislation in thick binders for decades. Dog-eared pages, outdated printouts, PDFs that take forever to scroll through on a phone screen. During a traffic stop, looking up a charge shouldn't take longer than writing the ticket. But it often does. The tools haven't kept up with the work.
The Solution
TEN78 puts Ontario's Highway Traffic Act, 21 HTA regulations, and 7 provincial acts in your pocket. Search over 1,600 charges in seconds. Calculate speeds and identify stunt driving charges instantly. Track your entire traffic stop from first contact to last ticket. Everything works offline, everything stays on your device, and everything is designed for the way officers actually work.
The Name
10-78 is the radio code for "need assistance." It's what you call when you need backup. TEN78 is built on that same idea — a digital backup on every stop. Quick, reliable, always there when you need it.
Built by an Officer
TEN78 wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built by an Ontario enforcement officer who got tired of flipping through binders on the side of the highway. Every feature in this app exists because it was needed in the field. The search works the way you think. The layout matches the way you work. There's no bloat, no ads, no tracking — just the legislation you need, when you need it.
What's Next
TEN78 is in active development. The iOS app is live in beta, and the roadmap is full. A web version for desktop and in-car laptops. Push notifications for legislative updates. iPad support for detachment offices. Android for the other half of the fleet. We're building the tool we wished we had — and we're just getting started.
